Puno

The city costs on the bank of the most beautiful lake Titicaca, the most high-mountainous navigable lake in the world, stretched almost at four-kilometre height. On lake coast, and on the floating islands constructed of a reed there live Indians of a tribe аймара.

They have kept a traditional way of life, customs, beliefs and national suits. Weeks does not pass here without any national holiday. On its coast and adjoining plateau Коллао culture Тиауанако six centuries ago has blossomed. On a legend инков, from dark waters of lake there were primogenitors of Empire Inkov - Манко Капак and Mum Okklo.

Considerable interest in this area is represented also by ancient funeral towers - Чульпас, located in Силустани - the most ancient American Indian burial place to Peru.

Climate dry and cool. Very much hot in the afternoon and at coldly night. A season of rains - from December till February. The mid-annual temperature makes +7°С.

Puno is located in in a southwest part of the country at height of 3827 m above sea level. Lake Titicaca - the most high-mountainous lake of the world is located at height of 3810 m. on border of Bolivia and Peru. It is the largest in the world a high-mountainous navigable reservoir - its area makes 8287 sq. km. This ancient lake has kept up to now the ихтиофауну, is faster ocean, than fresh-water, there are even sharks.

From Lima to airport Huljaka flights of local airlines some times in day fly. Flight time – 1 hour. Transfer Хуляка by the bus makes-Puno 1 hour of 30 minutes.

In area Puno it is possible to buy qualitative textile and woollen products, original musical instruments.
