Greenwich Вилладж |
Вилладж one of the most popular city areas who has given a shelter to all overseas. This bright place is sated by cafe, shops and the bars concentrated round Park Washington-square - one of the most populous places in the world.
Вилладж students of the New York University and tourists have chosen. The reputation of this place as creative enclave exists at least about 1900th when artists and writers moved here, involved with jazz musicians who played the well-known clubs, such as «Blue Note» and «Village Vanguard». By 1940 the community of gays here was formed. In 1950-60th of a coffee house on Bliker-Strit became a shelter for beatniks and hippie. Here there lived Jimmy Hendrix and the group «Rolling Stones» wrote down the songs.
Certainly now, nobody presumes to live to Greenwich Вилладж as the prices for habitation here are unreasonably high. But very many like to come to this place where historical sights adjoin to cafe, shops and gay bars.
