Island Лангкави |
The most romantic island of Malaysia - Лангкави (in transfer "island of legends"). It is at border with Thailand in strait of Malacca to the left of a continental part of Malaysia. From Kuala Lumpur to it to fly minutes forty - fifty. It is largest of 104 islands located at northwest coast of Malaysia.
Island capital - Куах. With Malayan this word is translated as "sauce". As one of the legends tells, two giants have overturned here a bowl with sauce карри.
Under other legend on island seven generations the damnation imposed on it 200 years ago to Poppies Махсури, executed on false charge in matrimonial change laid. Soon after her death the island was occupied by armies of Siam and all rice fields here have been burnt out. Now Лангкави has turned to one of the most prospering regions of South East Asia. Since 1987 it is declared by a zone of duty-free trade and the goods here are several times cheaper, than in other Malaysia.
The island is considered one of the most beautiful in South East Asia. To it more than 5 million years, but much here has remained with a primordial form. Around Лангкави the set of the big and small islets which create inexpressible on beauty a sea landscape settles down.
Conditions on Лангкави have to quiet pastime far from city vanity. At the same time the island infrastructure, its hotel base have all possibilities for comfortable rest.
On a site here it is possible to name one of the most convenient hotels Langkawi Village - 3 "stars" and Holiday Villa - 4 "stars" located around beach Пантай Тенгах in a southwest part of island. Near to them the largest aquarian complex Underwater World opened in 1996 in Asia in which are collected more than 5 000 representatives of sea and river fauna, a large quantity of corals, in the same building is located large shopping-centre.
Among obligatory points of the excursion program on Лангкави - Mausoleum Махсури in 12 km from capital of island of Куах. It is interesting to visit on the Crocodile farm, there there lives five-metre poor creature Budzhang Kavi which was born without a jaw and consequently attendants of firm feed him as the small child, and in Park of snakes if will carry, it is possible to see small Тена which likes to play with the friend - питончиком.

The highlight of the program on Лангкави - a trip to sea national park at island Pajar (Pulau Payar), that approximately in 40 minutes on the sea to the south from Лангкави. A beach of white sand, it is crystal reading to the water, the lured fish living creatures, including metre sharks, picturesque coral thickets on the small depth, the equipped mooring-cafe - from here would not be desirable to leave!
