Customs in Laos

Duty-free import from the countries which do not have the general borders with Laos is resolved: cigarettes - to 500 pieces, or 100 cigars or 500 гр tobacco; strong alcoholic drinks - 1 bottle, fault - to 2 bottles; personal jewelry - to 500 гр.

Import and foreign currency export is not limited (the sum over $2000 in cash or trevel-checks should be shown customs officials at crossing of border and is declared). Import and export of national currency is forbidden.

Export of subjects of art and the olden time, being national property, images of the Buddha (souvenir variants are resolved to export only), weapon, explosive, and also poisoning and inflammable substances, narcotics and means for their manufacture is forbidden.

At a start from the country aeroport gathering (the international starts - $10 on the person, local - LAK5000 on the person) is raised. Children are released From gathering payment aged less than 2 years, the transients who are leaving the country this very day and not falling outside the limits a transit hall, and also holders of the certificate on clearing of the gathering which has been let out by the Ministry of Finance of Laos.
