According to a Muslim lunar calendar, religious holidays drop out for different dates.
On January, 1st - New year.
The beginning of January - Эйд al-Fitr (the end of post Рамадан or "Рорда Мас").
March - Эйд al-Kebir (Day of sacrifices).
The beginning of April - Islamic New year.
On June, 4-5th - the National holiday of Maldivian republic.
On June, 15th - Мулуд (Миляд ан Наби, Birthday of the Prophet).
On July, 6-7th - the National holiday devoted to exile of the Portuguese invaders in 1573
On July, 26-27th - Independence Day, a holiday of acceptance of the declaration on independence Мальдив in 1965
On November, 11-12th - Day of Republic.
On September, 1st - Day Хурави.
On October, 28th - Day of martyrs.
On November, 3rd - Day of the Victory.
On November, 9th - Day of victims.
On November, 11-12th - Day of acceptance of the third constitution of Maldivian Republic.
On December, 25-26th - Christmas.
Friday on Maldives - the day off.
Very few people knows, that the beautiful word "atoll" has come to us not from islands of Polynesia, and from Indian ocean, is more exact with Мальдив - the archipelago stretched on 600 kilometres from the north (that to the south of Sri Lanka) on the south (in general behind equator). On a local dialect the word sounds even more beautifully - "атоллон". And it, unequivocally, most close to Russia and Europe oceanic islands of a phytogenesis, i.e. coral.
On resorts everything is authorised to tourists almost, except love in the sea, отламывания corals and photographing of headquarters of national confidential service. However the traditional zlachno-kurortno-night life as that is not present. The basic entertainments - объедание at the Chinese, Italian or local national small restaurants, a karaoke and dances near pool. The highlight of the program night exit fishing is considered - pecks really excellent, and fish from which one name at snobs breath intercepts - a tuna, a barracuda, марлин is caught... Улова usually suffices, that after returning to arrange a supper with wine at candles on seacoast in small "барбекью" - something like fish shashlik house. After that international dances under national drum-type music usually begin.
