Public transport

The public transport in cities is overloaded to a limit. In Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou is the underground (only two lines, works from 5:30 till), buses and trolley buses (work with 5:00-5:30 to 22:00-23:00).

The ticket in the underground is bought in cash desk at an input (travel and magnetic cards are absent), in the bus and a trolley bus — from the conductor (and on suburban lines — at the driver). Also there are the fixed-route taxis serving areas of a congestion of tourists and railway stations. The fare on them varies depending on distance and usually makes from 1 to 3 RMB.

Taxi in China

Taxi in China — the most comfortable way of movement in a city. They watch for tourists at all hotels, they can be caught in the street or to cause by phone. Tariffs in the different companies strongly enough differ and depend on car type. On the average it is 10-12 RMB for the first 4 km and 1-2 RMB for everyone the subsequent. At night the tariff can be above. Usually it is largely written on attached to a windscreen or glass of a back right door to a piece of paper. The taxi driver money it takes strict on the counter and delivery returns completely, and under the first requirement of the client it is obliged to give out the check for the paid sum (in each car the cash register is established).

To move on short distances it is possible conducted - also usual rickshaws, the fare on which depends on weight of the passenger and distance. Even the most cachectic tourists should agree about the price in advance — usually a rickshaw more expensively, than a taxi.

It is recommended to take a taxi from the central input in hotel — tariffs for all uniform. At an input in hotels door-keepers on duty give out to the tourist the coupon with entered number of a taxi — if he will forget something in the car.
To catch "private trader" in China it is impossible: private carrying is forbidden.

Transport rent

Because the international driving licence in China is void, car rent is possible only with the driver.

It is especially convenient, that driving in China, to put it mildly, specific. If to speak frankly — there go Chineses without special observance of rules.
